We are really excited to be offering a fully biodegradable 250g bag with zip lock, which is sourced from EarthBags™, as well as a fully biodegradable 1kg bag – both will have a one-way valve made from corn starch!

The bag itself will begin to break down shortly after it has been placed into an environment where micro organisms are thriving, like a compost heap. After 4 months, the bag should be fully decomposed.

Econic | Biodegradable corn starch and plastic, excluding the valve – 100g, 125g, 200g, 250g, 500g & 1kg

This bag is designed with the final post-roasting stage in mind, where the coffee slowly recovers from the roasting process. Between 7-14 days, the coffee is at its peak and is best consumed then.

It’s subsequent purpose is as a Retail bag, where the coffee will retain maximum freshness. We recommend consuming coffee stored in this bag within 1 month.

Paper | Biodegradable excluding the tin-tie – 100g, 125g, 200g & 250g

This bag is made from recycled paper, corn based inner lining & has a tin-tie at the top, it’s designed for the majority of people, who would like to consume their coffee as soon as they receive it. There’s no need to wait as long for the coffee to reach its peak, as it’s recovering faster. The trade-off is that the coffee will become stale faster and after about 2 weeks you will really start to notice that change in taste. We recommend consuming coffee stored in this bag within 3 weeks.

Please note: All Retail Bags (unless otherwise specified) are 250g and are whole beans only.
